OLH Honors Jeanette Eames As Woman Of The Year!

Category: Parish News, Women's Club,

Jeanette Eames joined the OLH community in 1988, when her husband retired from his Army career and they moved to Zion.  They were married 43 years before he passed away in June of 2011. Together they had three children, two sons and a daughter, and four grandchildren.

Over the years, Jeanette has been called to many ministries at OLH.  She began serving in the Religious Education Office on Sunday mornings helping in the office since 1990 to present.  She served as Secretary of the Women’s Club from 2013 to 2016, and she is still currently an active member. She has been serving as a Eucharistic Minister since 2013, and also became a Minister of Care taking communion to the homebound. In 2016, Jeanette joined the Legion of Mary, and has been serving as Treasurer of the evening praesidium since 2015.

Jeanette has been the Food Pantry Coordinator since February 2015. She is thankful to her wonderful staff of volunteers and the generosity of our Parish, which serves 70-80 families a month.

Jeanette is also a member of the NVDA (No Veteran Dies Alone) Hospice Team at Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, and for the past seven years has been blessed to have the privilege and honor to sit and pray at the bedside of our country’s veterans as they pass into eternal life.

Jeanette was accompanied by Fr. Paul and six members of Our Lady of Humility Women’s Club.

I am honored and blessed to be chosen as OLH Woman of the Year! All praise and honor really belongs to our Heavenly Father who has called me to serve Him, and sustains me in all that I do. My heartfelt thanks to all of you who selected me for this honor. May God continue to pour His blessings upon you and our Parish community.”
