Parish Pastoral Council |
The Parish Pastoral council has five basic
functions:
- To research the needs, the ideas and the hopes of the faith
community;
- To encourage and support existing ministries;
- To evaluate the quality of life of the parish faith community;
- To plan for the parish's future by recommending policies,
procedures, and programs that will implement those values and
fulfill the
Church's mission;
- To engage in active planning with the wider church (cluster,
deanery, diocese) in fulfilling the mission of the total local
church of the area.

Infant Baptism

arranging for a baptismal date (unless already attended previously or

born. When completed, please call the rectory to select a date and to give
information in advance. To register for Parent Preparation for Baptism call

The ministry of cantor involves animating the sung worship of the assembly
at Mass and sharing in proclaiming the word of God as psalmist, as well as
leading moments of worship through solo song and teaching the assembly its
songs, refrains and acclamations. |
Lectors
Each Sunday, men and women who have been carefully trained in the
ministry of lector, proclaim our Sunday scriptures. Watch the bulletin for
announcements about training sessions, or call the rectory (872-5778) if
you are interested in this ministry. |
Ministers of Communion
Assisting the priests in the distribution of communion are lay men and
women who have been prayerfully trained as ministers of communion at
Eucharistic liturgies. Upon completion of training, names are submitted to
the Archdiocese of Chicago for their approval, to be mandated for a
three-year term (renewable). If you are interested please contact the
rectory (872-8775). Watch the bulletin for upcoming formation sessions. |
Ushers / Greeters
Assisting us in a variety of ways are our ushers, who are called to
welcome all who join us for worship. Assist in seating or meeting the
special needs of people, facilitate the presentation of the bread and
wine, and take up the offering. We are also developing the role of
greeters at our Sunday worship, to welcome newcomers and regular
parishioners with warmth, openness and hospitality. |
Altar Servers
Assisting at the altar are boys and girls who are trained in serving
Mass each Fall. For information and requests call the rectory (872-8778). |
Sacristans
Care of the church and sanctuary has always been the realm of
sacristans.
If there are any questions call the rectory (872-8778). |
Liturgy

A group of parishioners is involved in learning about Liturgy and
Worship. They have begun to plan and provide feedback on improving and
