OLH Peer Ministers

High school teens at OLH gather for topical discussions, liturgical events, service events and social events. All parish teens and their friends are invited to be part of these events. We participate in events locally, at the Deanery level (Lake County), at the Chicago Archdiocese level and nationally. We follow a peer-lead model which trains teens to minister to their high school peers. Click here for more photos.

OLH Teen Ministry  2018-2019

Christ First will have a whole new format this year.  We are combining with the other two parishes in our cluster for a program called Life Teen.

What is Life Teen?

Life Teen is a movement within the Roman Catholic Church which leads teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

The theme for 2018-19 is “Relentless Father”.

This information is taken directly from the Life Teen website which you can visit at:  lifeteen.com

The other two parishes in our cluster are St Patrick in Wadsworth and St Paul the Apostle in Gurnee.  Also teens from St Anastasia in Waukegan will be attending.  So this will be a great chance to connect with lots of other Catholic teens in northeast Lake County.

When and Where?

It will be held Sunday evenings and will take place at St Paul in Gurnee.  First day for Life Night is Sunday, September 16, 2018.

What happens and what time?

5:00 Mass (contemporary music w/ a beat) or you can attend any mass at OLH.

6:00 PM dinner-all the teens will be fed a meal every week

6:30-8:00 PM- Life Night activities.

OLH TM adults will provide transportation to and from (or if your parents want to drive you, that is OK also)

We will be combining with the cluster for Life Night only, not everything.

See the flyer  for Thursday "Social or Service" programing  at OLH.
